Nasusa Pirate Alley SC “Sage” Perpetual Lure Coursing Trophy
Sage was born in Calgary, Alberta on May 14th, 2008, and made his way down to Palm Springs to live with his forever family, Ken and Karen Maki and their Whippet, Dune.
Sage enjoyed all things Whippet— chasing the remote control car around the backyard, racing, coursing, showing and napping with his big brother. Sage was an easy-going, happy Whippet. His time with us was cut way too short. Now he’s chasing those bunnies over the rainbow bridge. He will never be forgotten.
In Sage’s honor, California Coursing Association awards the Nasusa Pirate Alley SC “Sage” Perpetual Lure Coursing Trophy. The winning Whippet has the highest cumulative score at the end of the annual Sage Hunts. The winner's name and the date is engraved on the trophy. Ken and Karen Maki keep the trophy in memory of Sage.
