The Sheri Cobb-Mboni Challenge Lure Coursing Trophy
Sheri Cobb of Mboni Rhodesian Ridgebacks was passionately committed to the breed for many years. She was a long time member of The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the US (RRCUS) and was actively involved in Ridgeback Rescue, conformation and a variety of performance events. She was especially zealous about lure coursing and traveled whenever possible to lure coursing trials in states surrounding her home in Nevada. She was a frequent and welcome participant in lure coursing trials in Southern California and was a valued member of our lure coursing community.
In Sheri’s memory, California Coursing Association is pleased to award the Sheri Cobb-Mboni Challenge Lure Coursing Trophy, a Dannyquest bronze sculpture of a coursing Rhodesian Ridgeback. It is awarded to the cumulative high scoring Rhodesian Ridgeback at the conclusion of the annual Turkey Run AKC trials, held over Thanksgiving weekend. For permanent possession, the trophy must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same Rhodesian Ridgeback nor in succession. Each year, the name of the winning Rhodesian Ridgeback will be engraved on the trophy and the winner will receive a commemorative ribbon as a permanent reminder of the award.
