This event is by Invitation Only

This annual competition will have its inaugural season in 2013. With so many dedicated coursing hound/owner teams in the area, the Southern California lure coursing clubs wanted to create a year-long competition for them.

Throughout the calendar year, 14 trials (7 weekends) are designated as SoCal Cup qualifying events. For any hound that enters those trials, they will accumulate points based on the number of dogs defeated within a particular sighthound breed. The dogs defeated are calculated on cumulative score without regard to the stake entered (i.e. open, special, veteran).

Of the 14 scheduled trials, your hound must have minimally qualified in 8 of them to attain eligibility into the SoCal Cup final in December.

The last pair of trials will be scheduled after the Christmas Holiday whereby each breed will have up to 3 SoCal Cup Breed Finalists based on the total points earned for the year. Then, each of these Breed Finalists will run against each other to determine a Breed Winner.  After each sighthound has determined its Breed Winner, they will then have the opportunity to run in a “Best In Field” style format to determine who will be the SoCal Cup Champion.
